Lois Wort (nee Parker) was born and educated in Hamilton, where she gained a BA in English, French and German at the University of Waikato, before studying at Auckland Secondary Teachers' College. After teaching in Auckland and the Bay of Plenty, Lois was appointed Librarian at Te Puke High School. Lois has always been interested in language, both written and spoken. She has attained, with honours, all grades in the Trinity College Examinations for Speech and Drama and has won numerous awards for her acting and directing in theatre.
